Welcome to Woodstock, Vermont's Full Circle Trolley Service!
What is the Full Circle Trolley Pilot Project?
For our final pilot 2013 season, our fully electric vehicle is FREE and available to all during weekends and holidays starting Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend.
This demonstration period is to:
• Provide a green vehicle alternative to
automobiles to link village destinations, including the library, village
businesses, Woodstock Recreation Center, Woodstock History Center, Billings
Farm & Museum, and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.
• Utilize current parking areas in Woodstock (designated parking lot at Pleasant St stop) to reduce the need to use vehicles for short trips in the Village and encourage walking and riding.
• Offer an educational
vehicle that provides historic information about our area and the use of alternative energy.
• Help us consider the viability of a sustainable public transportation system within our community.
We are continuing to experiment with stops and the route during this four-year pilot. The schedule and route of the pilot project has been developed and adapted based on extensive feedback from community groups and ridership information. This year the Trolley will travel a route similar to Year 1 with service to the East End and then heading to the Billings Farm & Museum on a thirty minute frequency.
During the summer and fall when the Trolley is in service, you can schedule ADA Complementary Paratransit if you cannot comfortably walk to any one of the seven stops around Woodstock by calling the The Thompson Senior Center (802) 457-3368 ext. 22.
Simply put, what is a Full Circle Trolley?
This fully-electric vehicle powered by Green Mountain Power’s own Cow Power and will be taking people, FREE, to and from our trails to town for easy parking and accessibility through Woodstock weekends and holidays from May 25, 2013 to October 14, 2013. Look for signs at seven stops around town where you can wait for the next trolley coming twice an hour at scheduled times between 11:15 AM and 5:20 PM.
